Blackened by Drew Estate cigars are a collaboration between Drew Estate, Metallica’s famous co-founder, singer, and guitarist James Hetfield & Rob Dietrich— the Master Distiller and Blender of BLACKENED American Whiskey. The collaboration began with Hetfield and Dietrich, who frequently enjoy cigars together, decided to create this very unique all- maduro tobacco blend. The concept for the Blackened project was to use a variety of different premium maduro leaves, starting with a thick and oily Maduro wrapper that’s grown in the rich volcanic soil of Mexico’s San Andres Valley. Underneath this coal black crown, is a meaty Connecticut River Valley Broadleaf Maduro binder and a filler blend of ligero Nicaraguan and the boldest ligero Pennsylvania Broadleaf Maduro tobaccos in Drew Estate’s massive tobacco inventory.
